Young Athletes
Location: Verona Clinic
When: Tuesdays, 9:00-10:00 AM
Dates: July 2 - August 20
Young Athletes is a sport and play program that runs for 8 weeks for children ages 2 - 10 years old with and without intellectual disabilities (ID). Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills, like running, throwing and catching. This program is a partnership between Aspire and Special Olympics Wisconsin.
This fun and inclusive program offers families, teachers, caregivers, and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports with all children and abilities.
This group class will target:
Basic sport skills
How to work in a team setting
Promote inclusive play, support, social, emotional, and learning skills
Support muscle tone development
How to take care of our bodies when involved in a sport
Preparation for future sport and recreational activity involvement
Support finding a sport or rec activity that works with your child’s strengths
